Being found online is actually the end goal of your online marketing strategy. If you are not found, how will your future clients know about your services and why would they hire you? This is exactly why it is extremely important for you to be found online. But the big question is: how do I do this? There are plenty of ways to be found online, some of which we will explain.
Search engine optimization (SEO)
By optimizing your website for the search engine, you actually make sure that the search engine understands your website better. You need to make sure that:
- the code is neat
- there is a page title and description on each page
- each page contains a minimum and maximum of one H1
- each image has an alt tag and title tag
- All other headings within your website are denoted with an H2, H3 oid.
If you perform this then your on-page SEO is correct. After this you need to look at your website content and backlinks to your website.
Content marketing/optimization
In terms of content, it is very important that the content you have is absolutely right and matches your customer's search intent. So it is wise to look at what your customers are searching for and write content for that. You can do this by analyzing data from Google Search Console or by conducting a thorough keyword research.
Backlinks
Getting backlinks is perhaps the most important element for your online marketing strategy. A backlink is actually another website referring to your website. The other website indicates that your website is important. This is very important for the search engine, which takes it into account for your positioning in the search results (SERP). So make sure you get a lot of relevant backlinks. Be careful, do not buy them! This is against Google's guidelines and can result in a penalty. This is called blackhat SEO.
Search engine advertising (SEA)
By advertising on the search engine, you can ensure that you are at the top of the list with even the most difficult keywords today. There are costs involved. If you have a free marketing budget, you can certainly look into this. Note, however, that there is little point in bidding against the expensive but important keywords. Also take a look at the keywords on which there is slightly less volume.
The catch with advertising on the search engine is that as soon as you turn off the figurative money tap, no more visitors will come. Our advice is always to invest in SEO as well. This always works for you and does not cost you any extra money. That your company needs to be found online is pretty obvious.
